damsel in distress


This week i overheard this word 2 times…and i dont even know the meaning…so mr wikipeds helps..hehe

1: in taylor Swift song-today was a fairytale..

2: in grey’s anatomy scene where hunt found christina being stab with an icicle.

Damsel in distress :

She is usually a beautiful young woman placed in a dire predicament by a villain or a monster and who requires a hero to dash to her rescue. She has become a stock character of fiction, particularly of melodrama.

The word “damsel” derives from the French demoiselle meaning “young lady”
