Khusyuk solat

We always want khushoo’..Always said its hard to attain khushoo’ but do we really deserve khusoo’ if we arent making any preparation for it? Here some preparation you can do before prayers. I extract from the sermons i heard, or my own point of view.

1.Take some time before the adhan to contemplate, do zikr, sit on the prayer mat about 10mins before adhan.
2. Prepare the surah you are going to recite and know its meaning. At least understand the meaning of Surah Al Fatihah.
3. Make a perfect wudhu’..This works for me. I macam baru tahu nak ambil wudu’ betul2 selelpas tgok fattabiouni. Here the link. Jazakallah.

4. Know the movement well. Perfected your prayers through its movement. It works for me as well. I ask my quran teacher to tengok my prayers and she corrected me. Alhamdulillah. Im so thankful that Allah brought her to me. Woman movement are more details than the man. yes its not compulsory to perfected the body position but it helps you to attain khusoo’ as what Ustaz Don mention in his show “30min Ustaz Don”. Holding the hand to the left brings you closer to khushoo state. Takbir betul2, sujud betul2, rukuk betul2, duduk antara 2 sujud betul2. Cari ilmu.
5. Pray as if Allah is in front of you and the Angel of Death is on your back, ready to take ur life.
6. Apart of understand the meaning of surah…understand the meaning of each reads during ruku’, sujood.

makna bacaan and pic taken from  matlu& from my tumblr post this is also good
7. Suit up! Prepare a really nice cloth for prayer. For woman, make sure the telekung is clean and wangi. For guys pun, pakai pakaian yang selesa. Yes, please do wear something comfortable sebab if you are not comfortable, it will surely affects your solat. At times, sebab baju tak selesa pun the reason why we tak solat. Which is very sayang…One thing lagi, i figure, pakai attire yg menanpakkan tangan(for woman) menambah khusyuk sebab you are more careful on the movement. Ini for me je kot. Solat pakai baju biasa, without telekung lebih mbuatkan i nak strive kusyuk for me. wallahualam.

8. Prayer area. If possible find a place you comfortable with. A place thats not hurting your eye and distract. As for me, i buy this shaggy carpet because its very fluffy and its a really nice feel when you perform sujood and tak sakit..
9. Environment. Turn off the TV, anything yang boleh distract your attention. Pray inside room is the best if you pray at home. If at masjid, tak ada masalah.

10. Alas perut. Dont pray knowing you are in hungry state of mind. Im not saying pergi makan lunch dulu, baru solat. Tapi alas perut je sekadar minum air and biscuit/kurma/chocs/fruit. That will do. Jangan nak menipu yang you need sepinggan nasi untuk alas perut.
11. Empty your bowel. Nak buang air semua make it before prayers. You’ll be more comfortable.

*Betapa marahnya seorang raja yang menyuruh sesorang menghadapnya, tetapi hanya diberi jasad (sebab orang tu dah mati). Dia mesti akan murka sangat-sangat kan. Apatah lagi Allah.

-note to myself-really im writing this as a note to myself first…..i need to change and solat awal waktu.

Surah Al Hud is really good for those who want to find serenity, and wanted to break away from hardship. Allah is the Healer. Al Quran is His way.

Strive to be solehah, jom?

BIG CIRLE/Daurah- My first. At Masjid Mukhlisin, Alam Damai, 22 April 2012. 4pm-8pm.

Whats on your mind when people mention “Wanita Solehah”? In hijab? Always lower her gaze? Knowledgable? Obedient to husband?..what else? Dr Har gives me a different perspective of  Wanita Solehah and most importantly, who can I look up to in becoming one.

Dr Har asked

Mudahkah single woman menjadi wanita solehah, compare to married woman?

I raised up my hand due to certain reason which i picture the marriage is blissful, lelaki soleh, all good stuff lah..But actually sebenarnya if difikirkan banyak cabaran married woman untuk mencapai ertikata solehah. Sebenarnya dua2 golongan ni boleh strive the common goal. Keadaan kehidupan berbeza, tuntutan berbeza dan masing2 ada kelebihan dan kekurangan. Allah nilai pada iman, bukan status. Remember that. So our chances to become a solehah is wide open. Allah tak memilih bangsa, warna kulit, bentuk badan, status…tapi pada IMAN.

Which come to a story about “Smart tag”. Dr har relates Smart tag with the gate to jannah/redha Allah. Smart Tag is pre-reloaded with cash/credit, that enables the cardholders to pass through the gate easily and continue their journey. The thing detect you, and the gate open, you went through. The pre-loaded credit relates to our good deeds/ibadah that we have collected throughout our lives and when it comes to the jannah gate, if people with loads of good deeds, the gate will open, But what if your card is rejected due to no credit. You will not enter jannah. The gate will NEVER open. Another case is on the cash lane, its pretty good analogy too..You gotta stopped by at the counter, counted your money(deeds) and pay the cashier, If enough, she will release the gate. If not, you gotta find help (pinjam friends) and pay her in order for the gate to open.

Truly i never thought of that. How that simple day-to-day life example can draw us closer to Allah. In dire need that Jannah Smart Tag 🙂

I think, the foremost question as a human being is….”What is your purpose of living?” Did you ever had a moment where you stop and think of the basic reason why Allah created you? A friend of mine asked me some time ago of this and i said, we are slaves to Him, to worship him and be good to other living things as well as being beneficial to entire human. This is one good reads on Apakah Fungsi Manusia. Sometimes people cant accept kereta mayat’s way of writing, 1st half he’ll do an analogy, suit our surrounding and events and his last half part is all about Islam point of view and conclusions of the entry title. But to me, his style suits my liking. Ok back to Dr Har, she quote a quranic verses  ” Tugas manusia adalah menjadi hambah kepada Allah dan menjadi khalifah di bumi”

Definition of “wanita solehah”

(Quran, An-nisa’ 4:34)

So the righteous woman is the one who 1. Taat 2. Pelihara diri

Dr Har mentioned about a great woman that hasnt been promoted by many, but has ALL attributes in motivating a woman to become the Righteous One. Its Saidatina Khadijah Al Kubra. The wife of our beloved prophet Muhammad s.a.w. Which came to my mind ” yes, yes, she’s amazing…why haven’t i thought about Saidatina Khadijah before?”.

Aishah r.a once complained to Nabi Muhammad s.a.w because he keeps on mentioning Saidatina Khadijah and very close with her family members and Nabi Muhammad replied with this

“Allah tidak memberikan pengganti untukku yang lebih baik daripada Khadijah. Dia percaya kepadaku di kala orang lain mengingkariku, dia membenarkanku di kala orang lain mendustakanku, dia menyerahkan hartanya kepadaku di kala orang lain menghalangiku dan Allah mengurniakan keturunan melalui rahimnya kala aku tidak dapat daripada perempuan-perempuan lain ( isteri-isteriku )”.

She is an individual, wife, best friend, mother, educator, leader, businesswoman and pejuang.

And remember that she is the first person to accept Islam. She never worship the berhala as shes the follower of Nabi Ibrahim as. She can read at those years where woman is being violated and stoop low in the eyes of men. She studied from her cousin, Waraqah ibn Naufal, a very learned man during the age of ignorance. She’s smart and make most of decision herself- even when it comes to life partners. She is the most beautiful woman in Makkah and a very patient person. Remember when she hike Gua Hira back and forth to give foods to Nabi Muhammad s.a.w and you know how high that bukit was..I saw it during umrah and i couldnt afford to hike myself. Yes i didnt. And she did. And remember when Nabi Muhammad s.a.w receives the first wahyu and comes home shivering? What Khadijah did? She put a blanket to him and caress him, say good words to him. She gave birth to the most amazing woman-all daughters of Nabi Muhammad s.a.w.. She choose to be boycotted together even if she’s not from Bani hasyim which has been boycotted. She spend her entire wealth to Islam and this is moving…This is the thing i honestly respect Khadijah r.a for, the thing no one would ever said or do

“Wahai Muhammad, jika tulang belulangku boleh dijual untuk menegakkan agamamu, maka jual lah ia.”

Saidatina Khadijah r.a attributes are very relevant to us woman nowadays. Really wish to be like Saidatina Khadijah. InshaAllah.

And remember single ladies, whoever havent found life partner, marriage isnt the only door that leads to jannah and becoming solehah. Happiness is a form of contentment and you can attain that with or without marriage. Now is the time you be the ONE. And Dr. Har mention, you got Maryam as a referer so-called. She’s not married but still a righteous woman in the eye of Allah s.w.t. Its in Surah At-tahrim verse 10-12.

Muslim married man priority:

2. Rasul

3. Ibu

7. Isteri & anak2.

Muslim married woman priority

1. Allah

2. Rasul

The wife is at number 7 from the husbands eye, not 1, remember that. What Dr.Har said touches me..She said to her MIL  ” Tempat mak, Har takkan ambil, its a war i’ll never win.” And she ask her MIL to sit in front in car with her hubs and she sit at backseat instead.

I remembered a post by sis Yasmin Mogahed. She wrotes many article i can read all over again and relates.

You try to reach this ‘place’. You do this because in the fairy tale, that’s where the story ends. It ends at the finding, the joining, the wedding. It is found at the oneness of two souls. And everyone around you will make you think that your path ends there: at the place where you meet your soul mate, your other half—at the point in the path where you get married. Then and only then, they tell you, will you ever finally be complete. This, of course, is a lie because completion cannot be found in anything other than God.

But the lesson you’ve been taught since the time you were little—from every story, every song, every movie, every ad, every well-meaning auntie—is that you aren’t complete otherwise. And if—God forbid—you are one of the ‘outcasts’ who haven’t gotten married, or have been divorced, you are considered deficient or incomplete in some way.

Some quotes from Dr. Har :

You can trust your own judgement as long as it based on iman.

The people around you will ask numerous question thats going to worry you sick.

Dont declare war with your mother-in-law. You’ll never win.

Ps: I havent been on this kind of session for so long. Last is early March, so yeah its a soul feeder i need EVERYTIME.

Doa agar dicintai Allah

Allahumma inni as’aluka hubbaka, wa hubba man yuhibbuka, wal-`amalalladhi yuballighuni hubbaka.

Breakfast at The Republic of Meat : TROM Melawati

Well its more brunch than breakfast as I arrived there at 11am. I always love breakfast, I sanggup going places finding the good breakfast around.

When i saw TROM are having breakfast menu by their FB page, i know i have to give it a try.

Its pretty easy location if you get it right..Being me, sense of direction is not always been my strength but im trying to give it anyhow ok :
From MRR2 (From Ampang) take a ramp after Zoo Negara. Ramp dia adalah Taman Permata/Taman Melawati and go right. Then there’s a BHP Petrol on left, masuk BHP and susur keluar to the left through a lorong, theres a signboard of TROM, then masuk kiri, its nearby Bank Rakyat. Yalah, heres the map.

Pretty isolated place sebab nearby shops is still unopened. TROM stands alone, its kinda obvious to fnd.

interior n counter..sorry for the bad lighting.

entrance of TROM

First thing to note, i love the restaurant interior and decor. They’re using wood floor and its very europe-ish to my liking and during that time (i went there on Thursday) so tak ada orang. I suka quite place. Comfortable to chit-chat and do our own stuff.

I ordered Breakfast Platter with a coffee. A friend of mine, Faiz ordered Omelette with Green Tea. Then we add Tiramisu some more.. They dont have a set so we got to order food and beverage separately

Then this came….

breakfast platter for MYR15.90

omellette for MYR4.90

gooeyy Tiramisu TROM style for MYR12

Yours truly with the food and some interior

we are self-proclaimed part-time food critics

It was sooo good.

Home made baked beans, beef strips, franks  ( i never ate homemade franks, crap it was truly heavenly) and garlic mashed potatoes. It feels like you go to someones house and they cook you this… or better yet, you went to celebrity chef’s home and they cook it for you. A meal for a guest, not a mere customer. TROM happens to be a steakhouse and butcher shop, so they kid you not about meat business! Most of the food here is home-made from sauce to franks, so expect wholesome.

Tiramisu which is TROM’s signature dessert is also home-made, its more like an icecream cake to me, I dont fancy freezy cake but it taste good, different from any Tiramisu i have tried before.

I cannot make a comparison with La Bodega’s breakfast (i went there before) as i was eating a different meal but boy this is soo good.  Worth a try if you are a sucker for breakfast.

Breakfast over a newspaper and random chat with good friend. Whats more to love, plus you still got plenty time of the day. Thats the best thing about breakfast, especially during a weekends.

They just introduce their breakfast menu, Another dish is pancakes, egg mayo sandwich, cereal, omellete, scrambled eggs, salted beef/beef bacon sandwich, and fruit platter.
And lunch set for weekdays..A very good deals they got here..

Actually ada 6 sets of this Lunch Deal tapi oh well.., boleh browse through their FB Page, as well as their in-house menu and also a peek on their dishes.

in-house menu : main course

I choose this because location-wise, price-wise, good place to lepak and having girl-talk..
Total damage is around MYR50++…i dont remember the exact figure. Im not the one who pays leh ;p
Oh we ordered 4 drinks actually, a cake, and 2 breakfast meal.

They said a good food is a treasure. It is.
Whats more, its premium quality with an affordable price.

Taste: 9/10
Value for money : 10/10

TROM’s address : Lorong Kedah, Taman Melawati, Melawati Urban 1, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia 53100

Phone : 603-41051370

Oh they open at 10am, wish that they open at 9am at least kan..

ps : I teringin makan Nachos after watching AFC. AFC’s is responsible for my outshaped figure!

Let me give your heart a break

Earworm song, that is.

An earworm is a piece of music that sticks in one’s mind so that one seems to hear it, even when it is not being played. Other phrases used to describe this include musical imagery repetition and involuntary musical imagery. The phenomenon is common in normal life and so may be distinguished from brain damage which results in palinacousis. (wiki)

Ok not so serious.

I posted this status on FB

Real-life day out theme shoot sangat best kot utk post-wedding…Going into parks, restaurant, groceries shopping together or home inspired shoot : in the kitchen-cooking or painting home wall together. Effortless without being too posey.

When i saw this MV, i was like…this is it! I like the fact that she portrays independent woman figure yet sweet. They document their love with lots and lots of photos, and i love that fact.

In this day and age where everyone takes photos via camera phones and posts them in a public forum like Twitter or Facebook, Lovato goes the old fashioned route. She takes the physical photos and creates a mural of her and her BF comprised entirely of the individual shots. She posts it outside of the window of his loft.

That’s either totally crazy, insanely creative or unconditional love. Whatever the case, it makes a statement without saying a word.

the murals

sesuai buat album cover for post wed.

Don’t you just love this quote by Demi Lovato

“I want to put it out there and show that women can be independent on their own, I think that’s the best lesson that I’ve learned – to love myself before any other person.”

I love peek shot

Sucker for her MV’s setting mood. The color, the composition..*dreaaamm, dream , dream, dream*
